What do we do?
When an operator’s fleet reaches around the 50 vehicle mark, it will often reach a critical mass, where the running of the fleet (accident management, green policy, grey fleet policy, fuel cards, fleet administration etc) takes the focus away from running that operator’s core business. It will often also become apparent that they need something more personal and bespoke to their individual needs.
This understanding allows us to turn the normally reactive Fleet Management provision into a truly proactive and dedicated service, where we become the centre for all their fleet needs. We not only look after the administration, ordering, servicing, accident management etc, but we analyse the fleet and provide real and valuable support and advice – as if you had employed an experienced Fleet Manager of your own.

Nigel Birrell Fleet Management offers a fully outsourced fleet administration service, where all paperwork relating to fleets is handled away from the operating company. This service can include:

  • Road fund licence renewal

  • Congestion zone charge management

Drivers who use their own vehicles for company business are called Grey Fleet drivers, and the challenges posed by Grey Fleets are increasing all the time. The costs can be high- particularly if drivers are being offered cash in lieu of salary, and/or claiming a pence per mile against business use. There is also the Health and Safety implications, with it being the company’s responsibility to ensure that both driver and vehicle are safe and legal for all company travel, however short the trip.
